Hello Residents,
Together we knocked on doors, collected signatures, spoke with businesses in Ballincollig, spoke with neighbouring estates and more. Approx 12 objections to the planning application for a drive through were sent in. The application was granted with stipulations. At that point a decision had to be made whether to lodge an appeal or not. As the approx cost would run to hundreds of euros it was decided to send a flyer to every home in The Cloisters, with an e-mail and mobile phone number to contact for any one who felt strongly and would assist in an objection process. It was important to ask as any money spent comes directly from the subs that comes from the residents. The response was that I received 1 text in the time mentioned, and 1 afterwards. We discussed it amongst the 5 member acting committee. The unanimous decision was that there was not sufficient demand within the estate as a whole to justify objecting through the Residents’ Association. The matter was taken up by some hard working residents, and the very best of luck to them with that. Please feel free to post up the contact details of who to contact to support that objection.

Regards

Tom McDonagh (acting Chairperson)
